Nordic Interior Design

Time Reading: 2 Minutes

Christmas is approaching the highway. I guess it’s not just me who have trouble keeping my fingers in control when you see all the beautiful Christmas decorations that pops up on Instagram? Last year in December we moved into the apartment, so instead of Christmas tree and candlestick, there were moving-boxes and chaos instead. December went so fast that we barely understood that it was Christmas. So this year, I’m taking extra time to enjoy it.

What I really love this time of the year, is Christmas-crafts. Just light up some candles, take out those gingerbread cookies and play the Christmas-playlist. It’s like therapy, I promise! And even though it is a few weeks left until Christmas, I had to sneak in some decorations here and there. Last weekend I made this wonderful wreath, which took place over the dining table.

It’s made of a straw of wreath that I wrapped with eucalyptus, buxbaum and green moss. I was very pleased with the result and it smells SO GOOD.

My best Christmas-tip is to pick some spruce twigs from the outside and put them in vases here and there. It smells really wonderful and together with some scented candles, it smells exactly like Christmas.

Lots of love and Merry Christmas!

How would you describe your home now apart from the Nordic/Scandinavian influence?

I think that I have a quite unique style that stands out from other Nordic feeds. My home is a mix of the industrial and modern, but with a touch of bohemian. I'm not afraid to use colours or greens, to create a personal contrast. I re-use A LOT (So called DIY’s) and this is very popular amongst my followers. In these times, we need to learn to re-use our interior and not always buy new stuff.

What you love about Nordic/Scandinavian design?

I do like that the Nordic/Scandinavian design is simple and clean. We love to use grey and white, which I really do too. My home is a little up twisted and I love to add some personal colours to it. I also love the re-use of materials such as different types of wood and leather
