Are you tired of your kitchen and want to renew it, but don’t want to spend a lot of money on it?
Well, keep calm. Decorating a kitchen can often feel boring, time-consuming and expensive. Fortunately, there are many things you can do, without sacrificing a fortune, that gives your kitchen a lift and makes it feel new and fresh.
Working with open shelves is super-trendy right now. Either you put up the shelf on the wall or you use a floor shelf like me. My shelf comes from Ikea and it’s called “Hyllis”, it works perfectly in the kitchen. The porcelain colors look beautiful and are really eye-catching. If you have some exclusive porcelain you still don’t wanna hide it in the bottom of your shelves, right?
REPLACE YOUR KITCHEN DETAILS
If you don’t want to spend money on a major renovation, there are many small details you can look over. Start by replacing the knobs and handles on the kitchen hatches. Replacing mixers, painting the tile with tile color and replacing the kitchen towels can also give your kitchen a big boost.
FRESH HERBS AND PLANTS
Go out and buy some fresh herbs and green plants and place in the kitchen. Greens can really lift any room, and make it feel fresh. Fresh herbs smell wonderful, and you can also use it in your cooking. Basil, coriander, and mint are my favorites. A nice bowl of fresh fruit also makes the kitchen feel inviting and homely.
Many kitchens have a very cold light that can make it feel uninviting. If possible, replace the lights on the ceiling with some warmer light-sources. Place some candles here and there to get the same cozy feeling as the rest of your home.
CREATE A CHALKBOARD
A great tip is to fix your own chalkboard. If you have a dull corner in the kitchen, you can paint with chalk paint to get the same function as a chalkboard, where you can write with chalk-pens. If you have children, this is a very popular way to use their creativity. If you don’t have children, it can be a good place for to-do-lists, shopping-lists or weekly menus. It’s a really fun and personal element in your kitchen.
Kids room is my absolute favorite when it comes to decorating and creating DIY ́s. There are «no rules»
and I can play around with fun and colorful toys and accessories. Myself as a kid loved spending time in
my own special place where I felt safe and could be creative in.
My kids rooms where the first to be
prioritized when we moved into our new house, and I think kids rooms are the reason why I became so
into the interior in the first place. I think creativity is contagious and I want to inspire my kids to have fun and
be creative as much as they can.

A color combination I really love for girls room is pink, mint and gold. Its cute and childish, and are
happy colors for a kids room!
Now she`s moved into a different room that’s a little bigger and closer to the toilet. Here she has more
space for her play kitchen and can host tea parties:)

If it was up to me I would have painted the room in a gender-neutral color, but of course the little boss of
this room is the one entitled to make that desition 😉
Sheep and the sheepskin softens up the floor, and details/furniture in wood is a great way of adding a
calm feeling to the room.
Sharing some tips for decorating kids rooms:
– Think about the little one’s interest, and use it in the decor to make the room personal. Ask them questions and make a plan together. Pinterest is full of inspiration!
– Toys are cute for decorating and invites the kids to play. Put some nice toys up and visible instead
of stuffing them all away in a box
– Storage! An uncluttered space is a peaceful space.. Get several bigger and smaller boxes for
storage, and make them available for the kids to reach. Kids love to have their different little
«treasure chests» to put their favorite things in.
– Create a magical mood in the room with different light strings on batteries. My girl love these and
likes to have them all on as we put her to bed at night.
– Use textiles to give a comfy feeling in the room. Sheepskin, cute pillows, chunky knit blankets,
– The kids spent much time playing on the floors.. so if the floors in your house tend to get cold, its
nice to put in a carpet to play on.
– You can find lots of cute things in second-hand stores or flea markets! Give them a new life with
just a little paint or with spray cans. It’s eco-friendly and easy on the wallet!
